A Bigfork man is facing charges he sexually assaulted a teenage girl numerous times over a one-year period.

John Paul Wehrman, 65, is charged with one felony count of sexual assault and two felony counts of incest.

Wehrman, who faces a maximum of life imprisonment, posted $75,000 bail Monday, Oct. 5. His next court appearance is set for 9 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 13, in Flathead County District Court.

According to charging documents, a Flathead County Sheriff’s Office deputy took a report from the Child Protective Services hotline on Nov. 4, 2019, which indicated Wehrman had raped a teenage girl multiple times over the last year. The last assault reportedly took place on Nov. 3, 2019.
