MOSES LAKE — One person is dead and another seriously injured after being attacked by their own dog in their home on Airway Heights on Thursday, according to law enforcement.

Deputies with the Grant County Sheriff’s Office were called to the Harvest Manor trailer park before noon Thursday for a report of a dog attack. A medical airlift was called to the scene to transport a male victim, but first responders could not resuscitate him. He was declared dead at the scene.

A female victim was transported to Samaritan Hospital for treatment and surgery, according to first responders. The dog, a pit bull, was captured and taken to a local vet for treatment, as it also sustained injuries.

The circumstances that led to the altercation have not been determined, law enforcement officials said Thursday evening.
