In search of spooky stories

It’s officially October, aka Halloween month, aka spooky season, aka “spooky szn” if you, like me, use at least 25% internet slang because you’re horrible.

For a lot of us, October means the usual fall activities like searching for the perfect pumpkins to carve, chugging specialty coffee drinks from your favorite shop or maybe binging some scary movies.

Another classic, yet oft-overlooked joy of October, however, are scary stories.

I should preface this by saying that I was heavily inspired by Devin Weeks, a reporter at our sister paper in Coeur d'Alene. So, Devin, if you’re reading this, just remember that imitation is the highest form of flattery.

With that said: Readers, I want to hear your ghost stories.

Have you ever seen paranormal activity you couldn’t explain? Found an old family relic you’re sure is haunted? Noticed things moving around your house? Whatever it is, send it my way.

Readers’ stories will be published in the Oct. 31 issue of the Bonner County Daily Bee.

Send your scary stories to [email protected], or feel free to call my office at (208) 263-9534 ext. 239. And happy spooky season!
