EPHRATA — Derelle Lee Favors, 24, of Auburn, pleaded guilty last month to two counts of possession of a stolen vehicle and one count of possession of a controlled substance, according to court documents. Favors was sentenced to 44 months in prison.
He was arrested in May when an Ephrata police officer spotted him driving a beige Honda Accord that was believed to have been stolen out of Puyallup. The officer pulled Favors over and arrested him after confirming with Puyallup police that the car had been stolen. During a pat down, an officer reportedly located a pair of brass knuckles in Favors’ pants pocket.
Favors was booked in Grant County jail but was later released.
Three months later, as charges against Favors were working their way through the court system, Favors was again arrested, this time by Moses Lake police, who had discovered him driving a stolen vehicle out of Pasco, according to court documents. Favors attempted to flee the scene, according to responding officers, but was captured and arrested.
Officers also found a substance in Favors’ vehicle that field-tested positive for crystal meth, according to court documents.
Favors, who before moving to Auburn lived in Moses Lake, had a number of previous criminal convictions on his record, including two convictions for possession of a stolen vehicle in Grant County, stemming from two arrests within two months in 2018.
