MOSES LAKE — A 21-year-old Moses Lake man is facing a charge of animal cruelty after a video circulated on social media showed him attacking his dog, a Labrador-pitbull mix, according to local law enforcement.

Dakota Raymond O’Keefe was booked into Grant County Jail Sunday evening on a charge of second-degree animal cruelty.

Another dog, a Chihuahua mix, was also found dead at O’Keefe’s property on the 1100 block of East Saint Helens Drive. O’Keefe reportedly told arresting officers that the dog he was filmed beating up had killed the smaller dog earlier that day, which was why he decided to attack his own dog, according to local law enforcement.
