Police officers arrested a Libby woman on multiple charges after they allegedly found syringes on her while detaining her for shoplifting.

Lilly Shantel Lockman, 27, was initially charged with felony criminal possession of dangerous drugs as well as misdemeanor criminal trespass, theft and criminal possession of drug paraphernalia following her Sept. 29 arrest. Authorities set her bond at $10,000.

Cody DeWitt of the Libby Police Department took Lockman into custody after arriving at a local gas station for a trespass violation, court documents said.

In an affidavit, DeWitt reported that Lockman was accused of stealing food valued at $6.17 from the store. He caught up to Lockman down the street, where he arrested her for trespassing.

During the booking, authorities found tow syringes on Lockman, court documents said. At least one tested presumptively positive for methamphetamine, according to DeWitt’s affidavit.

Criminal possession of drug paraphernalia and criminal trespass are both punishable by six months imprisonment and a $500 fine each. Theft carries a $500 fine. Felony criminal possession of dangerous drugs carries with it a potential fine of $5,000 and imprisonmet of up to five years.
