Leaf collection efforts in Kalispell began Oct. 15 and will last until Nov. 20.

There is a weekday collection schedule for designated areas throughout Kalispell, however the Kalispell Public Works Department warned leaf collection can be unpredictable due to leaf volumes and weather conditions.

Residents and business owners are encouraged to rake the leaves from the boulevard into the street approximately two feet away from the curb. Leaves should be raked past the curb by the start of a resident’s scheduled collection day, so they do not miss collection

Rocks, dirt, cans, bottles, branches and items of this nature should not be placed in the leaf piles because they may cause bodily injury and damage to machinery.

“Crews will make every effort to collect leaves as outlined in the designated areas,” the Public Works Department stated.

However, collection in designated areas outside of the schedule days may occur at the discretion of Public Works.

An interactive leaf collection map is available on the city’s website at www.kalispell.com/265/Leaf-Removal. The map provides information on weekday collection areas. City residents can use the map to search their address and determine their area’s leaf collection day.
