SENT/DEVELOPING:

ELECTION 2020: President Donald Trump embarks on a final-week charge through nearly a dozen states ahead of the election, overlooking a surge of coronavirus cases in the U.S. and a fresh outbreak in his own White House. His Democratic rival, Joe Biden, is holding far fewer events in an effort to demonstrate that he’s taking the worsening pandemic seriously. SENT: 1030 words, photos. Will be updated from Trump rallies in Pennsylvania at 1:30 and 4:30 p.m.

ELECTION 2020 -WATCH: What we’re watching heading into the final full week of the 2020 campaign. SENT: 950 words, photos.

ELECTION 2020 -EARLY VOTE: The number of people casting an early ballot in the presidential election now surpasses those who voted early during all of 2016. That’s more than 58 million people voting with nine days to go before Election Day. Democrats have been dominating early voting, but Republicans are slowly narrowing the gap. SENT: 900 words, photos.

SUPREME COURT-BARRETT: A divided Senate is set to confirm Amy Coney Barrett to the Supreme Court, giving the country a ninth justice as Republicans overpower Democratic opposition to secure President Trump’s nominee the week before Election Day. SENT: 870 words, photos. Will be updated from the confirmation vote expected around 7:30 p.m.

ELECTION 2020-HOUSE-PELOSI: Speaker Nancy Pelosi once predicted she’d have the 2020 House Democratic majority secured by November — of 2019. Now, days before the Nov. 3 election, she seems to have done it, and she’s expanding her reach. With control of the House hardly contested, Pelosi is working to fortify Biden and win extra House seats in case Congress is called on to resolve any Electoral College dispute with Trump. SENT: 1050 words, photos.

ELECTION 2020 -KUSHNER -BLACK AMERICANS: Presidential adviser Jared Kushner says President Trump wants to help Black Americans, but they have to “want to be successful” for his policies to work. White House press secretary Kayleigh McEnany says “internet trolls” took Kushner’s words out of context. SENT: 300 words, photos.

ELECTION 2020 -OHIO -GRASSROOTS: With perennial swing-state Ohio appearing to be a tossup in recent polling, the roles of campaign volunteers and grassroots groups in generating enthusiasm and turning out the vote likely will be crucial in the battle for the state’s 18 electoral votes. SENT: 830 words, photos.

BIDEN EVENT - MISINFORMATION: Social media users are sharing a video clip of Joe Biden and claiming it shows he mixed up President Trump with former President George W. Bush. While Biden did, in fact, appear to stumble on the word “George,” many of those posting the clip left out a key detail: He was being interviewed at the time by actor and comedian George Lopez. SENT: 500 words, photos.

EXPLAINING -ELECTION 2020 -THE-COUNTING: How will various ballots be counted, and what results will be known on election night? Millions of Americans have already voted but each state has different rules on when it can start counting those ballots. SENT: 400 words, photos.
