One person was injured in a two-vehicle crash Wednesday afternoon.

According to the Kootenai County Sheriff's Office, a truck towing a tug boat collided head-on with a small car at the intersection of Huetter Road and Orchard Avenue about 4:10 p.m.

The driver of the truck was not injured. The driver of the car was transported to Kootenai Health with severe injuries. He was last reported to be in critical condition, according to a press release.

A power pole was damaged during the collision, which resulted in a temporary, small power outage in the area.

Hayden Avenue and Prairie Avenue were closed while the crash site was cleared.

An investigation continues. Alcohol is not believed to be a factor, the release said.
