Sept. 1, 1970 – EBBETT LANDS SALMON
Mrs. Wayne Ebbett called friends from Port Alberni, B.C., saying among other things that her husband caught a 32 lb. salmon that day.

NEW DEVELOPMENT AT BLANCHARD
A new recreation and housing development is being constructed on 1,600 acres of land south of Blanchard by Paul Heidrick and Gordon Dolan at a cost of $1.25 million. A mile long lake is being created by a dam on Blanchard creek. Lake Sans Souci is comprised of three former farms, which formerly belonged to Mr. and Mrs. Lee Eddy; Mrs. Maude Geaudreau and Ted Halin. The name of the lake is a French term meaning “Without Care” and is pronounced san-soo-see.

KAREN ARNDT MARRIED IN MOSCOW
St. Augustine’s Center, Moscow, was the site of the Aug. 1 wedding of Miss Karen Elaine Arndt, Sandpoint, and Warren Jerome Kruse, Moscow. Mr. and Mrs. Edward Arndt, Sr., Sandpoint, are the bride’s parents. The groom is the son of Mrs. Merwyn Kruse and the late Mr. Kruse of Denver.

SHELLEY JO NACCARATO - DAVID BROOKS
Shelley Jo Naccarato and David L. Brooks were married July 11 in a double-ring ceremony in St. Catherine of Sienna Catholic Church in Priest River. Mr. and Mrs. Robert J. Naccarato are parents of the bride. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. David Brooks, Elk Mountain, Wyo.

A son (Dayton Allen) was born Monday to Mrs. Rolla Chaney of Defoe, Sask., at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. J.S. Allen of Superior st.
An effort is being made to secure the graveling of Euclid avenue to connect up with the graveling of the Dover road being done by the county.

FIRST ANNUAL FLOWER SHOW
The Sandpoint Civic club’s first annual flower show will take place simultaneously with the Elks’ home coming celebration Sept. 2, 3 and 4. The show will be at Thomason Brothers’ hardware store on Second and Cedar and the exhibits will be placed for all three days although the prizes will be awarded at noon the opening day.

KOOTENAI NEWS
Miss Mollie Solberg, whose marriage (to Arthur Frank Kalk) took place in Sandpoint last week, was a teacher in the Kootenai school last term, and is widely known throughout this vicinity.

NEWS FROM HOPE
The fire on the peninsula took a fresh start today and J.H. Donovan shut down his mill to put his crew to work fighting the fire. They were unable to check it entirely and considerable damage was caused at the mill.
