FRENCHTOWN - Junior midfielder Maddie Robison scored five goals and assisted on four others as the Columbia Falls Wildkats swamped Frenchtown 10-1 in girls soccer Thursday.
Robison scored in the first minute of the match on an assist by Josie Harris, and then kept the pressure up. Her third goal made it 4-0; she assisted on tallies by Lakia Hill and Cheyanne Johnston-Heinz as the gap grew to 6-0 at halftime.
“I don’t think I’ve ever been around a game at any level where someone’s had five goals and four assists,” said Columbia Falls coach Thomas Clark, noting that Robison had set the school single-season record for assists (15) in 2019. “This year’s she’s just taken her scoring to a new level and continued to set up her teammates.”
Johnston-Heinz added a second goal and Alexis Green and Harris also found the net for Columbia Falls (2-0), which outshot the Broncs 31-2. Green and Hope McAtee had assists as well.

Getts made 15 saves for the Wildcats (3-0), who have won all three games this season by one goal.
“Our starting goal keeper was unable to play and our striker, Niels Getts, had to step in and cover him,” Wildcats’ coach O’Brian Byrd said. “If it wasn’t for him we wouldn’t have won the game.”
Walt Nichols and Carl supplied assists for Columbia Falls, which saw its lead narrowed to 3-2 in the 60th minute.
“They show a ton of composure late in the games holding slim leads,” Byrd said of his team. “We haven’t won at that field in four years. I’m proud of them.”
