Elliss, Walker earn
FCS Preseason All-America Honors
MOSCOW — Idaho football players Christian Elliss and Tre Walker have yet again been recognized ahead of the upcoming season, this time earning Stats Perform FCS Preseason All-America Second Team honors.
The duo has brough home some hardware this offseason. Both were tabbed Preseason All-Big Sky selections by the conference coaches and media, and also earned Phil Steele Preseason All-Big Sky First Team recognition back in July. They also were named HERO Sports Preseason All-Big Sky selections.
Elliss led the team in 2019 with 4.5 sacks and finished second on the squad with 104 total tackles. Walker led the way for the Vandals with 138 tackles in 2019, the second highest total in the conference. Walker led the Big Sky with 74 solo tackles. Both earned All-Big Sky honors a season ago.
The Big Sky Conference was well represented and featured more student-athletes than any other conference. In total, there were 22 Big Sky student-athletes out of 101 recognized.
Eastern Washington quarterback Eric Barriere was named to the third team.
The Big Sky has postponed all fall sports to the spring due to concerns over COVID-19. More information on scheduling will be available in the coming months.
