Coronavirus: 42 cases reported in Grant County, 2 in Adams

GRANT AND ADAMS COUNTIES — There were 42 new cases of the coronavirus reported in Grant County on Thursday, including 16 in rural Grant County near Othello, 15 in Royal City, six in Moses Lake, three in Ephrata and one in Warden, according to Grant County Health District.

Of those new cases, 29 were associated with agricultural testing, the health district wrote in a daily update.

This brings the total cases in the county since the pandemic began to 2,598. State officials reported Wednesday that 131 Grant County residents have been hospitalized with the coronavirus since the pandemic began, while 18 are currently hospitalized, according to the health district.

In the three areas of the county with the most cases, there have been 761 confirmed in Moses Lake since the pandemic began, 725 in the Quincy area and 417 in the Mattawa area.

In Adams County, two new cases were reported Thursday, including one each in Ritzville and Othello, bringing the countywide total since the pandemic began to 737. Of those, 685 have been reported in Othello, while Ritzville has had the second-most cases with 38. State officials reported Wednesday that 39 Adams County residents have been hospitalized with COVID-19 since the pandemic began, while one currently remains in the hospital.
