The Bigfork Playhouse Children’s Theatre has canceled their production of “Disney’s The Lion King Jr.” due to two confirmed cases of coronavirus among the cast and crew. The play was scheduled to premiere Sept. 25 and run on select dates through Oct. 4. One staff member and one cast member tested positive for COVID-19, according to a post shared on the theater’s Facebook page Wednesday, Sept. 16.
“The kids really did a good job with their masks and social distancing, but we just knew this was a possibility,” the post read. “So keep an eye out, we haven’t canceled our November ‘Best of BPCT’ yet and thank you for understanding.”
No details were available for the Best of Bigfork Playhouse Children’s Theatre showcase. This year marks the 20th season for the children’s theater, which held its first shows in 2001. Upcoming shows scheduled for the 2020-21 season include “Elf: The Musical,” “Aladdin Jr.” and “Cowabunga.”
