One Sandpoint High School student confirmed with COVID-19

One student at Sandpoint High School tested positive for COVID-19 on Thursday.
Tom Albertson, superintendent for the Lake Pend Oreille School District, said the individuals who were in close proximity to that student are self-quarantining.
"Our school nursing staff did an excellent job. The teachers had done an excellent job in knowing exactly strict seating charts. So we knew exactly who had been sitting with who and which classes," he said. "So out of a school of almost 1000 students, at this time, I believe there's 18 students who are going to have to quarantine for 14 days."
This is the first case of a positive COVID-19 test result from students in Bonner County since schools reopened on Sept. 8. For more information on LPOSD's COVID-19 safety plan, readers can visit covid.lposd.org
