The Coeur d’Alene Police Department is asking for the public’s help in identifying the suspect believed to be responsible for recent vehicle burglaries in the northwest portion of the city.

Police said there were about a dozen vehicle burglaries in the Northshire, Indian Meadows and Hawks Nest neighborhoods west of Atlas Road, south of Prairie Avenue and north of Appaloosa Road.

All the vehicles were unlocked, police said.

A suspect is shown on surveillance footage wearing a "Johnny Cash" T-shirt while checking two vehicles and finding they were locked.

"Rather than force entry, the suspect moved on and burglarized other unlocked vehicles in the area," police wrote on Facebook.

If anyone has information regarding the identity of the person responsible for these burglaries, they are asked to contact the Coeur d’Alene Police Department at 208-769-2320 or policetips@cdaid.org
