Lakeland High School in Rathdrum and New Vision High School in Post Falls have reported positive cases of COVID-19 this week.
LHS parents and staff received a letter informing them of the case Monday.
"When we have a positive case, we want people to be aware of it," Principal Trent Derrick said Wednesday. "We’re monitoring it on a daily basis and moving forward."
Post Falls Superintendent Dena Naccarato confirmed that an individual in her district has tested positive.
"We have one confirmed positive case and notified the parents of students at New Vision High School," she said.
New Vision will not be closing.
"As a reminder, PFSD is operating in 'orange,' which enables us to socially distance in every classroom," Naccarato said.
She said following the Centers for Disease Control's definition of exposure, "it is not necessary to quarantine additional students and staff."
"We implement daily cleaning protocols in all of our buildings," she said.
Names are not being released to protect the privacy of individuals who test positive.

Post 143 Honor Guard presents demonstration of military funeral honors
Sunlight glinted off the tear streaming down Ken Johnson's face while he presented rifle shell casings to a weeping widow. Although it was a demonstration of military funeral honors, the moment was poignant as the widow was played by his own wife, Desiree Johnson. "It happens every time," Johnson said after the demonstration, describing how difficult it can be to look into the eyes of a mourning family member and hold back the tears.
