Pirates sink Lady Loggers in four matches

The Lady Logger lost their Sept. 22 match against the Polson Pirates over four games.

While Libby took the second game 28-26, they fell in games one, three and four with scores of 25-23, 81-25 and 25-23.

During the match, the Lady Loggers racked up five aces. Junior outside hitters Julia Martineau and Mariah Goucher led the team with two each.

Junior right side hitter Ember Rhode led the Lady Loggers with 10 kills. Senior middle hitter Olivia Gilliam-Smith and Martineau followed close behind with nine and eight kills respectively. In total, Libby scored 38 kills.

Senior setter Laneigha Zeiler made the lion’s scare of Libby’s assists with 25 out of a total 30.

Junior right side hitter Ember Rhode took four of the Lady Logger’s 10 blocks. Defensive specialist Aren James made 27 out of Libby’s total of 51 digs.

The Lady Loggers will go on to play Frenchtown at home on Sept. 26.
