Lewanah Ruth Parker

Lewanah Ruth Parker, fondly known to family and friends as Mimi, was born on May 4, 1935, to Jesse and Ruth G. (Goforth) White in Coleman, Okla. She grew up in Sulphur, Okla., where she attended and graduated from high school. Mimi met Jerry S. Parker, her husband, at her father's skating rink. They were high school sweethearts. Their marriage was blessed for 67 years. They had three children: Michael, Ron and Sandie.

Mimi enjoyed traveling with her husband and children. She enjoyed meeting people and getting to know them. Mimi had a heart for those in need. Jerry served his country in the military for 22 years of service then continued onto another career for 22 more years. Mimi was a devoted wife and mother that took her to many different states and countries. Following retirement, they settled in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, in 2003.

Mimi loved the Lord and reading her Bible.

Mimi was preceded by her husband, Jerry, who passed away on Sept. 12, 2019, and her sons, Ron and Michael Parker.

Mimi passed away on Sept. 13, 2020. She is lovingly remembered by her daughter, Sandie Parker of Coeur d'Alene and grandchildren, Eric Eldrenkamp, Jeremy Eldrenkamp and Cara Martin. Mimi had six great grandchildren: Keira, Eli, Jesselyn, Avery, Noah and Ava Lee; brother, Rev. Loren White and his wife, Joan, of San Antonio, Texas; nieces, nephews and friends. Mimi will be missed by many. She will remain in our hearts forever. Mimi touched the lives of everyone she met.

Blessed and Eternal be the memory of Mimi Parker.

Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 2, 2020, at Yates Funeral Home, 744 N. 4th Street, Coeur d’Alene. Visitation is Thursday, Oct. 1, 5-7 p.m. also at the funeral home. Interment will be at Riverview Cemetery. Reception to follow at Yates. Arrangements are provided by Yates Funeral Home.
