Two Othello men were injured in a DUI rollover just before 2:09 a.m. Saturday on state Route 17 at milepost 34, north of Othello, in Adams County.

Juan R. Castro, 32, was apparently driving drunk and speeding in a black 2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee and failed to make a curve, left the road on the right, went 100 feet on the shoulder, struck a driveway, rolled, and struck a tree. The Jeep stopped on its top, according to the Washington State Patrol.

Castro and his passenger, Luis A. Magana, 35, were taken to Othello Community Hospital before being flown to Sacred Heart Medical Center in Spokane. Both wore their seatbelts and the Jeep was totaled.

The WSP plans to file DUI and vehicular assault charges against Castro.
