Ice age flood expert to speak Tuesday

WENATCHEE — The Wenatchee Valley Erratics of the Ice Age Flood Institute will offer a program, its first in over a year, Tuesday via Zoom, according to a release from the Wenatchee chapter’s publicity chair, Susan Freiberg.
Bruce Bjornstad will present “Ice Age Floodscapes of the Pacific Northwest,” highlighting Bjornstad’s new book of the same name.
Using illustrations with descriptions and geologic interpretations of mostly aerial photographs, he will show the power and magnitude of repeated Ice Age floods in the Pacific Northwest as recently as 14,000 years ago. The book focuses on outburst megafloods from glacial lakes Missoula, Columbia and Bonneville.
Bjornstad is a geologist and hydrogeologist and the author of two previous books, according to his website.
