If you’re considering going out for breakfast this weekend, look no further than the Bonners Ferry Rotary Club free Community Breakfast and Silent Auction. They’ll be serving up a menu of sausage breakfast burritos, pancakes, biscuits and gravy, juice, coffee and tea.

The event is being held from 7-10 a.m. Saturday, April 24, in the Valley Event Center at the Boundary County Fairgrounds. Donations are accepted and welcomed, but organizers want people to know the breakfast really is free to anyone who wants to come down.

The event is a fundraiser for the Rotary Club’s scholarship program. They’ve been hosting the breakfast for more than 10 years, and have been able to give a number of scholarships to area seniors, as well as several adults seeking continuing education.

Rotary members said the goal is to help local families offset some of the cost of college tuition and help build community for future generations.

Items for the silent auction this year include memorabilia signs, gift certificates to Kootenai River Inn and spa as well as Springs Restaurant and Lounge, granite signs, gift certificates for advertising, for camping, collision repair, and gift basket of pet supplies.

Rotary members are also excited to share a couple big ticket donations: Boundary Tractor has donated a Stihl RE 90 power washer and Idaho Forest Group has donated one full unit of lumber.

The Rotary Club is hoping to raise more than $12,000 this year. As a club, they have distributed over $125,000 in scholarships over the years.

If you would like to donate to the auction, contact Nick Larsen at 208-946-3361
