WARDNER –– Multiple local and federal law enforcement agencies descended upon 120 Main St. in Wardner Wednesday afternoon, but for what reason still remains a bit of a mystery to even some of those who were on scene.

At approximately 4 p.m., the home became ground zero for an investigation that involved mostly unmarked federal personnel serving a search warrant on behalf of the Idaho Attorney General’s Office. Deputies with the Shoshone County Sheriff’s Office were also present to assist in preserving the integrity of the scene.

Neighbors who spoke to the News-Press reported seeing residents of the home being detained and placed in unmarked law enforcement vehicles. They also reported seeing several items taken from the home by investigators and placed inside the mobile crime lab.

Law enforcement stayed at the home and collected evidence until roughly 9 p.m. the same night.

When asked for more information on the incident, Scott Graf with the Attorney General’s Office said they knew of the situation, but declined to comment on it at this time. The SCSO also declined to comment on the incident, as it was not their case/investigation.

Unconfirmed reports suggest the incident/possible crimes may have something to do with the internet.

As of April 15, jail booking reports from various local and state agencies show that none of the residents in that Wardner home have been taken into custody. The News-Press is not revealing the names of the residents at this time due to no criminal charges being filed and juveniles residing there.

The News-Press will provide more information on this incident if/when it becomes available.
