SANDPOINT — The Sandpoint tennis team hosted Post Falls on Tuesday, and the Bulldogs bested the Trojans 8-4.
It was Sandpoint's third victory over the Trojans this spring, and second at Travers Park.
In girls singles, SHS grabbed a pair of dominant 6-0, 6-0 victories. At No. 1, Neva Reseska won her match in just 19 minutes.
"I've never seen that before," head coach Kent Anderson said. "I don't know if she lost more than five points the whole match. I walked over there and she was already walking off the court, I thought they were still warming up."
At No. 2, Maise Brazill soared past her opponent in 27 minutes.
"Maise is amazing," Anderson said. "She really wants to be a good tennis player and she works so hard."
The Bulldogs swept boys doubles action. Josh Embree and Christian Story battled through a hard-fought first set to secure a 6-2, 6-1 win at the No. 1 spot.
"The first set was a little bit of a war even though they were winning most of the games," Anderson said. "They were fighting out there and trying to find their tempo, and eventually they did."
At No. 2, Carter Johnson and Tyler Korn cruised 6-0, 6-0.
"They were just ripping balls," Anderson said.
Brahma Heitz picked up the Bulldogs' first 10-point tiebreaker victory of the season at No. 3 singles for the boys. He won 2-6, 7-6 (10-3).
Charlie Johnson grabbed a win in straight sets at the No. 1 singles spot for the boys.
"It was nice to see Charlie dominate because he's played some really tough matches," Anderson said. "He was moving the ball around really well."
Evan Wiley and Patch Howard secured a 6-3, 6-0 victory at No. 2 mixed doubles.
The dynamic duo of Denali Terry and Olivia Petruso rebounded from their first loss of the season at No. 1 girls doubles with a 7-6 (7-2), 6-1 win.
Adrian Doty (girls singles) and Aden Heitz and Kailee McNamee (mixed doubles) both lost their matches in 10-point tiebreakers.
Sandpoint heads to Lakeland at 3 p.m. Thursday.
"Lakeland's got a good team this year," Anderson said. "That's going to be a great match and we've got to be ready for that."

The Bulldogs recovered from a rough opening quarter to down the Hawks 48-37 and split the regular season series between the two Inland Empire League foes. The victory also puts Sandpoint in the driver's seat to grab the No. 1 seed to the 4A Region 1 tournament.
