A Kalispell man is facing a felony charge after a violent, head-on crash earlier this year in which he was allegedly under the influence of heroin.
Forrest Donavin Bradley, 27, was booked into the Flathead County Detention Center April 27 on a charge of negligent vehicular assault. He was released on his own recognizance the following day.
Bradley’s arraignment on the charge is set for 1:30 p.m. May 20. He faces a maximum term of 10 years in the Montana State Prison.
According to the charging document, several emergency personnel responded to the crash on the U.S. 93 bypass. Witnesses said a silver Toyota RAV 4, driven by Bradley, was driving south when it crossed into the northbound lane and struck a red Toyota Tundra. Both drivers were seriously injured.
A Kalispell police officer got a search warrant for Bradley’s vehicle and found drug paraphernalia and heroin.
The detective found needles, pipes, a digital scale and bindle baggies. The baggies were found inside a backpack and they contained a brown, tar-like substance, which the Montana State Crime Lab said was heroin.
The detective spoke with Bradley and he allegedly admitted ingesting heroin before driving.
