Detectives were waiting to hear on the cause of death Sunday of two people who were found dead just before noon Saturday at a home in the 8000 block of Road 18 Northeast near Moses Lake, according to Grant County Sheriff’s Office Public Information Officer Kyle Foreman.

Deputies responded to a call to the home 13 miles north of Moses Lake for a possible weapons violation, and they found two as yet unidentified bodies. A suspect, an unidentified man, also was there and taken into custody. The caller was someone who heard about the alleged crime, Foreman said.

Foreman said detectives hadn’t named the deaths as homicides, but evidence so far was leaning that way. He also said investigators remained at the scene much of the night to determine details.

The only information released Sunday was the bodies were in the care of the Grant County coroner, who would positively identify them and how they died, Foreman said. That information was expected Monday.

Then, detectives could determine which charges to file with the prosecutor’s office, he said, if any.

A Moses Lake man was booked into the Grant County Jail on unlawful firearm possession, after being picked up in the area of and after the call to the home where the two bodies were found. However, Foreman said Sunday he couldn’t confirm whether the man was the suspect in the case.
