Community Members and EXCEL Foundation,

On Thursday, July 29 the Hagadone family graciously hosted an event for the EXCEL Foundation at their gardens in Casco Bay. This event supports the foundation’s Endowment that awards Coeur d’Alene school teachers with grants to implement innovative and creative experiences for students in District 271.

I am a teacher in the Coeur d’Alene School District, a mother of two young boys in the district, and I just want to say THANK YOU for supporting our teachers and students with your generosity and donations.

You help us make our dreams for kids a reality by helping teachers do that one more thing without worry of limitations, cost or draining our resources. We want kids to learn how to form strong educated opinions, become expert researchers, and learn how to share things they are passionate about with their community. Our goal is to teach our youth that they can make an impact and that their thoughts and words can make a difference.

When schools, families and communities work together to support learning, our kids have more purposeful experiences and will become more purposeful citizens in their community. EXCEL is providing opportunities for educators to improve the lives of others and leave our community better than we found it.

So, from the bottom of my heart, THANK YOU!
