Christmas came early: Fall sports practices start Monday
DYLAN GREENE | Hagadone News Network | UPDATED 4 years, 4 months AGO
Monday can't come soon enough — that's because the day marks the start of fall sports practices.
Football, swim, cross country, soccer and volleyball teams across the state will begin their journeys toward glory. But locally, the squads for Sandpoint, Priest River and Clark Fork are the ones we care about the most.
If you're a sports fan like me, you've had this date circled on your calendar since the spring season ended in May. There are so many storylines and athletes to follow. As a writer, it's like Christmas.
Just like the athletes, my life will become a lot more hectic next week, but in a good way. In 10 days, I will have finished the 2021 Fall Sports Preview — an eight-page insert in the paper dedicated to highlighting all of the fall sports for Sandpoint and Clark Fork.
And don't worry Priest River, I won't forget about you. In the weeks leading up to the start of the fall season, I will publish weekly season previews about all the Spartan sports.
I have a notebook full of questions that I'm anxiously awaiting to ask, and not much time to ask them. I could list all the storylines jumbling around in my head below, but I'll save those and let my words in the coming weeks speak for themselves.
This piece is my official sign-off from the outside world. Peace out, see you in two weeks.
Sincerely,
Dylan Greene
