Jacquelynn and Tim Henney celebrate 64 years of marriage on today, August 10. The couple wed on August 10, 1957, in Block Island, R.I.

The Henneys met in Berkeley, California, in 1956, and started life together in a brownstone walkup with fireplace and terrace but no kitchen in historic Greenwich Village, New York City.

Tim Henney's corporate career centered mainly in NYC but also in Indianapolis, Beverly Hills, Washington, D.C. and Moline, Illinois.

The family lived in three New Jersey suburbs within comfortable commuting distance into Manhattan — and also in Lloyd Harbor, N.Y., a two-hour one-way daily trip by car, train and subway into downtown. The Henneys moved from Ridgewood, N.J. back to Illinois following 1986 retirement, and to the Selle Valley from Utah in 2005.

Children are Tim B. and Heidi (and husband Peter Gatch) of Park City, Utah; and Justin (and wife Angela) of Sandpoint. Grandchildren are Theodosia of Salt Lake City, Scott (and wife Revan) of NYC, and Adeline and Violet of Sandpoint.

The senior Henneys, 86 and 90, credit their longevity and marital success to family and good friends, good bourbon and good scotch, plenty of bacon at breakfast, good books and PBS, great dogs, songs of yesteryear, and living life as a glass half full, not half empty. They claim to look exactly today as they looked in 1957 so saw no need to submit a current photo.
