GROWTH: Bucket’s overflowing
Coeur d'Alene Press | UPDATED 5 years AGO
If you pour water into a bucket eventually the bucket will become full, overflow and make a mess. That is what the mayors and most of the city councils of Coeur d’Alene, Rathdrum and Post Falls are doing with relation to growth here.
There is not the infrastructure here to support the large number of homes that are being built. I love that the answer to traffic congestion is to route it through residential neighborhoods.
I’m not sure what time of day Mayor Griffitts is on Government Way in Hayden, but his 76 seconds of waiting is way off the mark. I live on one of the major school bus routes on a street that has no sidewalks. Our street has non-stop traffic on it now. We have large numbers of dump trucks barreling down this street as school children are walking home from school.
It looks to me like maybe we need recalls if all three mayors and several city council members. These people need to remember they are elected and work for us. Start listening to the people that put you there.
