Those making claims obligated to furnish the proof

Jack DeBaun has his own version of what he calls science.

In Jack’s version, “science doesn't prove anything. It provides provisional explanations based on critical evaluation of all currently available data.” This version is also known as “junk science.” It’s junk because if it doesn’t prove anything, then it can’t be good for anything. And by the way, if it doesn’t prove anything, then it doesn’t prove Jack’s theory about anthropogenic global warming. When asked to prove AGW is real, he admits that he can’t.

Real science, on the other hand, actually does prove things. Such as, for example, that the earth is round and rotates in space as it revolves around the sun, that hydrogen and oxygen combine to make water, and that high blood pressure is not a good thing. Jack’s version of science only offers “provisional” explanations, but real science is based on direct observation, testing, and experimentation. And it delivers solid facts.

Jack commits the “burden of proof fallacy” by trying to shift the burden of proof to those who disagree with him, as he has done in previous letters. He claims that AGW is real and then expects others to prove him wrong. But that is not the way it works. It is totally up to the person making a claim to prove that their claim is true. He is not allowed to make up his own rules when it comes to logic and debate. Trying to do so only makes him look foolish.
