Ashley Kaufman
Central Washington volleyball
Kaufman, a 5-foot-8 outside hitter from Lake City High, was named to the Preseason All-Great Northwest Athletic Conference first team.
"AK has mixed it up in the GNAC and the NCAA Tournament, and Tia (Andaya, who transfered from Gonzaga) brings playing experience in the very competitive West Coast Conference," Central Washington coach Mario Andaya said. "Both are two of the few battle tested players on the roster, so it's cool the coaches recognized them."
Kaufman, who did not play last year due to an injury, was a key element for the Wildcats in 2019. In the GNAC conference Kaufman was ranked 19th in kills per set (2.5), 20th in digs per set (2.96), 11th in aces per set (.35), and 19th in points per set (3.0). She appeared in 29 matches and played in 112 sets for the Wildcats.
Sydney Parks
Montana Tech volleyball
Parks, a 6-3 senior middle blocker, had a season-high 10 kills for the Orediggers (4-0) in a match against Goshen (Ind.) during a tournament in West Palm Beach, Fla., on Aug. 14. In four matches, Parks had 23 kills and 18 blocks.
