SPIRIT LAKE — Police are searching for a man whose longtime partner was found dead.

John D. Dalton, 55, is a person of interest in a suspected homicide.

Spirit Lake police responded around 7 p.m. Monday to the residence of 56-year-old Tina Swor.

Friends and family had requested a welfare check after they didn’t hear from Swor for several days.

Police found Swor dead inside her home.

Detectives with the Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office investigated.

A preliminary investigation indicates foul play, police said.

Dalton was reportedly in a long-term relationship with Swor.

KCSO is seeking information about his whereabouts.

Dalton is a white man with brown hair and brown eyes. He’s about 6-feet tall and weighs about 225 pounds.

He was last known to drive a black 2002 Chevrolet Silverado with Idaho license plate 7BN3581.

Police said Dalton should be considered armed and dangerous.

Anyone who locates him should call 911 or their local law enforcement agency.

Those with information about this case can contact Detective Ballman at 208-446-2237.
