Duane Neil Emerey, passed away on Saturday, August 21, 2021 in Veradale, Washington.

Graveside services will be conducted at 1 p.m., Friday, August 27, 2021, in Pinecrest Memorial Park.

Duane was born in Spokane, Washington, to Marvin and Hazel Emery on January 7,1937. In 1943, the family moved to Kootenai, and later into Sandpoint, where Duane completed his education and graduated from Sandpoint High School in 1955. After a year of college in Boise, Duane married his high school classmate, Gayle Bond on May 19, 1956. They were together until her death in November 2001.

Duane spent his adult life working in the construction management field, and this took he and Gayle to various locations on the West Coast, Colorado and Kansas, until his retirement in 1999 in Coeur d'Alene.

In 2008, Duane connected with another high school classmate, Kay Hickman. They were together the rest of his time traveling the world and living in Spokane Valley.

Duane was preceded in death by his first wife Gayle, and his parents Marvin and Hazel Emery.

He is survived by his brother, Evan, in Everett, Washinton; his two daughters, Pamela and her husband Pat Motley, Arroyo Grande, California; and Sharon and her husband Tony Stagner, Dalton Gardens, IDdaho 7 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Duane says the world gave him a great life, it has been a great run, and he will be seeing you.
