Containment is growing on the Trestle Creek Complex.

With 15% containment, a team of 445 personnel from the Nevada Type 3 Incident Management Team is working on the fires that have burned 6,600 acres, located 4 miles north of Hope.

In a video posted by the Type 3 Team to update residents on the fires, meteorologist Lamont Bain said additional rain may be on the way. Bain forecasts a 15% chance of showers tomorrow with moisture moving into the area from the south-southwest.

Crews are attacking the fire directly, and indirectly on the southern and western flanks of the fire, which began on July 7 after a lightning storm hit the area.

In Montana, Northern Rockies Team 7 has been given authority over two fires burning around Troy, Mont. South Yaak Fire, the larger of the two, has burned 12,371 acres, and is being fought directly and indirectly along the northern and eastern flanks of the fire. At 68% contained, crews are working to expand containment lines with a team of 170 personnel. Cooler temperatures in the area are expected to lessen fire activity for the next couple of days.

Team 7 is splitting resources between the South Yaak fire and the Burnt Peak fire. With 121 personnel working on the 4,074-acre fire. 32% of the Burnt Peak fire is contained, and crews are working on holding already established containment lines.

Road closures on all fires remain in place at this time. For more in-depth information about any current forest fire, go to inciweb.nwcg.gov. For information about where the smoke in the air is coming from, go to fire.airnow.gov.
