MOSCOW — Sandpoint girls soccer kept its unblemished record intact with a commanding 4-1 victory at Inland Empire League foe Moscow on Tuesday.

The Bulldogs avenged their 2-0 defeat to the Bears in the 4A Region 1 title game last fall.

Senior Sierrah VanGesen scored a pair of goals for Sandpoint. Head coach Conor Baranski said the entire team was excited to see VanGesen score her first goal in a Sandpoint jersey.

Kylie Williams tallied two assists and Ashlee Webster and Piper Frank each had a goal.

Sandpoint only led 1-0 at the half, but stepped up its play in the final 40 minutes to pull away from the Bears, Baranski said.

Despite the win, Baranksi felt his team could have played better.

"I thought we were a little off team wide," he said.

Baranski said he continues to be amazed by how positive the team is throughout a match.

The Bulldogs (3-0, 2-0 IEL) travel to Coeur d'Alene at 4:30 p.m. Thursday.

First half — 1, Sandpoint, Sierrah VanGesen (Kylie Williams), 16:00. Second half — 2, Sandpoint, Ashlee Webster (Williams), 42:00. 1, Moscow, unknown, 49:00. 3, Sandpoint, VanGesen (Peyton Cessna), 56:00. 4, Sandpoint, Piper Frank (Ava Mazzilli), 68:00.

Shots — Sandpoint 19, Moscow 8.
