SHS ORCHESTRA
Sandpoint enjoys a distinction in music education that few of its school patrons are aware of. “We have the only student string orchestra north of Lewiston and one of the few in the state,” reports Mrs. Marion Ruyle, who conducts the orchestra and gives instruction in bowed string instruments at Sandpoint High. “Stringed instrumental instruction is given in both Moscow and Coeur d’Alene, but they don’t have orchestras.”

ENTERTAIN YOUNG PEOPLE
Miss Margaret Hoyt, a university student who spent the Thanksgiving recess at her home at Dover, and her brother, Peter Hoyt, a local high school student, entertained 35 friends at the Hoyt home Saturday evening. A sleighing party was planned, but the warm weather broke up the sleighing and the evening was spent in dancing. The guests met at the city hall and were taken to Dover aboard a sleigh behind a four-horse team. A delicious lunch was served at 11. Guests included Miss Mary Helphrey, who finished last year at Cheney normal and now teaches; and Russell Molyneux and Louis Helphrey, university freshmen.
