POST FALLS — Clark Fork boys basketball went toe-to-toe with Genesis Prep on Friday night in a hard-fought battle, but the Wampus Cats came up just short.
The Jaguars won 57-47.
Head coach Heath Beason said he saw lots of improvement from his squad.
"I'm pretty proud of these kids," he said. "These guys turned it around from last night."
The Wampus Cats were within striking distance until the final seconds.
"Our defensive closeout and rotation was phenomenal and our press worked phenomenal," Beason said. "Everything was clicking."
Clark Fork only turned the ball over 10 times and had 18 steals with their relentless full-court press.
"I'll take that all day long," Beason said.
Senior Carter Sanroman led the way with 15 points, nine rebounds, five assists and two steals. Junior Nathan Shelton and sophomore Ethan Howard both had career nights, scoring 15 and 10 points respectively.
Sophomore Cole Sanroman added 5 points.
Clark Fork (0-2) heads to Mullan at 7 p.m. Thursday to open North Star League play.
