The Coeur d’Alene Symphony will be presenting "Sounding the Horn: Illuminated Carols" at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at the Schuler Performing Arts Center on the North Idaho College campus in Coeur d’Alene.

The program includes “Procession of the Nobles” by composer Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov, “Tchaikovsky's Sleeping Beauty Suite, op 66” and “Concert Suite” from "The Polar Express."

The concert will be conducted by guest conductors Evgeny Grechko and Christopher Grant.

Grechko moved his family from Kazakhstan to the United States in 2018. He was the former conductor for Kyrgyz Republic’s State Chui Chamber Orchestra from 2011-18.

Grechko currently leads the orchestra and choir at Pilgrim Slavic Baptist Church in Spokane and plays for the Coeur d’Alene Symphony Orchestra.

Grant is a percussionist, composer and music educator residing in Spokane Valley. He is the principal timpanist with the Coeur d’Alene Symphony and conductor of the Spokane British Brass Band.

He has taught music at kindergarten through collegiate levels.

Tickets are $20 for adults, $15 for seniors 65+ and $10 for students with ID.

The concert is free for military/veterans with ID, youth ages 2-12 with an adult or senior ticket purchase, and NIC students with ID.

The show is nearly sold out. Those wanting tickets should purchase soon.

A second family concert will take place on Jan. 29 at the same venue. The theme is "Swords and Sabers" with music from "Star Wars." Seating is limited and tickets are going fast.
