COEUR d’ALENE — A woman charged with causing a head-on crash while driving drunk will plead guilty.
Corina R. Larabee, 37, of Rathdrum, is charged with aggravated DUI, a felony punishable by up to 15 years in prison.
She is also charged with injury to a child, a misdemeanor that carries a maximum penalty of six months in jail.
Larabee is expected to plead guilty to the charges in a Dec. 16 hearing.
Deputies with the Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office responded around 5:30 p.m. on May 5 to a two-vehicle crash in the area of Meyer Road and Wyoming Avenue.
Larabee was reportedly traveling northbound on Meyer Road with a child in the front passenger seat when she crossed the center line and hit another car.
First responders had to remove the doors of both vehicles to extract the passengers.
The driver of the other car was transported to Kootenai Health via Life Flight with severe injuries, police said.
Larabee, who was not injured in the crash, reportedly provided breath samples of 0.17 and 0.16 — about twice the legal limit.
Police arrested Larabee at the scene. She later posted $50,000 bail.
As part of a pretrial settlement offer, prosecutors agreed to amend the injury to a child charge from a felony to a misdemeanor.
Prosecutors will reportedly recommend a sentence of eight years in prison, with one and a half years fixed and the remaining six and a half years indeterminate.
The state will also recommend that the fixed portion of the sentence be imposed, according to court documents.

Community Library Network’s new policies could fracture regional library consortium
For decades, the Community Information Network has enabled libraries in North Idaho and eastern Washington to share their collections and broadened patrons’ access to materials. Now a restrictive policy for minor library cardholders in the Community Library Network, unlike any other in the library consortium, could mean that patrons across the region lose access to library materials.
