Byrd, Peacock named coaches of the year

Columbia Falls coaches received accolades from their peers this week. Cross country coach Jim Peacock was named the class A girls coach of the year for leading the Wildcats to their first ever state championship.

Boys soccer coach O’Brien Byrd was named the class A boys soccer coach of the year, after leading a young Wildcats team to its second state class A title game in two years. The Cats narrowly missed beating the rival Whitefish Bulldogs in the championship game, losing 3-2 in the final two minutes of the game.
