SPOKANE — The Sandpoint Sharks had another impressive weekend in the pool at the SWAT Winter Invite on Dec. 3-5 at Whitworth University.

Across the board, the Sharks saw significant time drops.

"Considering the swimmers haven't had a break and have been working nonstop, I'm very impressed with their swims," head coach Sara Zwink said. "Racing once a day is tough, but having to swim twice a day really pushes a swimmer to the next level."

Five Sharks qualified for finals in their events Saturday and Sunday — Mia Driggs, Ryleigh Bamer, Lou Foust, Ayiana Prevost and Ava de Leeuw.

Foust dropped almost nine seconds in the 200 freestyle and de Leeuw dropped nearly eight seconds in the 200 backstroke.

Prevost received teammate of the meet.

"She had a great attitude the entire weekend even after swimming the 200 butterfly twice," Zwink said. "She also placed first overall in the 100 breaststroke."
