CLARK FORK — It wasn't a win, but Clark Fork boys basketball left it all out on the court.
The Wampus Cats lost a nail-biter to Genesis Prep 46-43 on Thursday night.
"This was the most exciting game I've ever been a part of," head coach Heath Beason said. "Our kids played their hearts out and they should be very proud.
Clark Fork trailed 25-20 at the halftime, but pulled within a point after three quarters. However, the Jaguars did just enough down the stretch to leave CFHS with their second win over the Wampus Cats this season.
"We used to be beat by these guys by 70 or 80 points and to lose by just three, what an achievement," Beason said. "It's amazing what these kids have done in a few years to become a better team. They worked hard and should be taken seriously.
Carter Sanroman led the team with 16 points and 10 rebounds. Sam Barnett had 11 points and eight rebounds, Nathan Shelton tallied 9 points and 10 rebounds and Cole Reuter added 5 points. Cole Sanroman grabbed five steals.
Clark Fork (3-4) will play Priest River at 4:30 p.m. today to open the Spartan Christmas Tournament at PRLHS.
