PONDERAY — A Bonner County woman is out of jail after posting $50,000 bail on charges she attacked a man with a baseball bat.

Jodi Michelle Rawson was bailed out of jail on Thursday, just one day after being arrested for beating a man on the head and neck multiple times with a baseball bat.

Bonner County Dispatch received multiple 911 calls about the unprovoked attack taking place in Yoke’s Fresh Market on Wednesday at 2:34 p.m.

According to court documents, Bonner County Sheriff’s deputies arrived on the scene to find the victim in bloodied clothing with a laceration above one eye. The two are familiar with one another according to court documents.

Rawson fled the scene without the bat. Deputies later found her less than two blocks away at the Fairbridge Inn & Suites.

In an interview, Rawson told Deputy Cameron Simeral that she “just saw red” and “kind of went crazy,” according to court documents. Rawson alleged that the victim was a rapist.

The victim has no criminal cases in the Idaho courts database.

Simeral told Rawson that she was being arrested on a charge of aggravated battery.

“He’s still alive, huh?” Rawson said to Simeral, “Bummer, I’m not that strong.”

Although Rawson is no longer in custody, she will be appearing for a preliminary hearing on Dec. 29 to determine if there’s enough probable cause to proceed through the court process.
