Kathleen Marie Best, 88, passed away on Sunday, December 5, 2021 in Sandpoint, Idaho. Private family services will be held at a later date.
Kathleen was born on April 15, 1933, in Waterloo, Iowa to George and Hattie Jenness. She grew up in Heron, Montana, and graduated from Clark Fork High School.
Kathleen married John Best on May 24, 1951, in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. They made their home in Ellensburg, Washington, where she worked as a certified nursing assistant. She was a member of the Moose Legion in Ellensburg until 1978, when they moved back to Sandpoint and she cared for John’s parents until they passed away. She was a CNA at Odd Fellows Plaza for many years, and later worked at Michigan Greenhouse after retiring from being a caregiver. She enjoyed flowers, her family, spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Kathleen is survived by her daughter, Pamela Vance of Summerville, South Carolina; son, Terry Best of Sagle, Idaho; nine grandchildren, Bonita Best of Ellensburg, Mike (Sarah) Best of Kittitas, Washington, Jason Hetrick of Sagle, Joanne Ames of Sandpoint, Nicole Hetrick of Summerville, Marie Hetrick of Spokane, Washington, Matthew Hetrick of Spokane, Charlene Still (James) of Spokane, and Stephen (Sarah) Best of Yakima, Washington; and 17 great-grandchildren
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John Best; son, John Best Jr.; sister, Maxine; and three brothers, Don, Roy and Bob.
