Decker Milender and Silas Acker had a pair of wins each to lead an impressive Superior wrestling showing at last week’s Thompson Duals on the spotlighted mats of Thompson Falls High School.

Milender, wrestling at 126 pounds, continued his impressive season start with wins by fall over Westin Brown of Thompson Falls and Levi Wentz, also from Thompson Falls.

Milender pinned Brown at the 2:30 mark of their match, then stuck Wentz to the mat in 2:39.

Acker, competing in the 182 pound classification, pinned a pair of wrestlers from Mission/Charlo. In his first match he stopped Diego Hostetler in 1:03, then completed his day by pinning George Rainey just 53 seconds in to their bout.

The Bobcats also swept all seven exhibition matches during meet, with Micah Acker leading the way at 113 pounds by beating two wrestlers from Mission Charlo. He won over Kody Dillard 13-2, then pinned Dillon Dwelle at the :52 mark of the first round.

Also recording exhibition match wins were Carter Woodson by fall in 5:27; Jaxson Green, by fall at 1:17 and versus Hostetler by fall in 1:41; and Lucas Kovalsky who won his 138 pound match over Ale Nichol of Thompson Falls in 1:35.

Thompson Falls standout Shane Reishus won his match at 160 pounds with a win over Superior’s Chase Woodson.

Superior’s wrestlers next action is a journey to Cut Bank, where they will participate in the Cut Bank Boosters Invitational Friday and Saturday, January 7-8.

Thompson Falls will also travel to Cut Bank for the Boosters Invitational, but they will arrive on Thursday, Jan 6 to take part in the Cut Bank Duals the day before the Boosters meet.

The area’s only other wrestling program, Plains/Hot Springs will next travel to Arlee January 4 for the Arlee Duals. They will then take part in the Mike McChesney Memorial Duals in Florence, Saturday, January 8.
