Troy City Council approved contracts last week with an engineering firm the municipality recently brought on to assist with infrastructure repairs and general projects.

The agreements between the city and Robert Peccia and Associates (RPA) covered general engineering, planning and grant writing services. Among other projects, the firm will tackle improvements to the city’s water system.

Councilors signed off an invoice to cover an inspection RPA started for the new Town Pump. After the city contracted RPA to begin the building inspection, officials learned Town Pump had already partnered with outside inspectors. Town Pump officials have agreed to reimburse the city for RPA’s costs.

Councilors hired RPA to address city engineering work in October. The city has partnered with the company since around 2008, according to Tracy Rebo, city clerk and treasurer.

Council President Crystal Denton made a motion to approve the contracts. Her colleague Shawna Kelsey offered a second. The vote was unanimous.
