Season 1 schedules for competitions are set, though dates are tentative, for North Central Washington Region schools. There are just some final holes to fill for some teams’ schedules.

Pre-competition practices for Season 1, including traditional fall sports, open today.

Local teams competing in the NCW Region are: Moses Lake, Ephrata, Quincy, Royal, Warden, Wahluke, Soap Lake, Almira-Coulee-Hartline, Moses Lake Christian Academy and Wilson Creek. Winter and spring schedules are yet to be determined.

This season, in the new NCW league, Columbia Basin teams will get a unique chance to face off against their neighbors who were in other leagues.

Some staple matchups will still be held even with the revised leagues. For instance, Moses Lake will still face off against rival Wenatchee in all competitions.

Ephrata and Quincy will wrap up their football season with their annual Battle of the Basin, and reigning 1A state champion Royal High School will match up against a trio of 4A opponents. The Knights will wrap up the season at home against 4A Moses Lake.

Wahluke girls soccer, defending South Central Athletic Conference district champs, will open its regular season at home against Royal.

Competitive matchups are allowed until the region reaches Phase 2 of the state’s reopening process, with the exception of cross country.
