A Flathead Valley man was taken to Logan Health in Kalispell for a medical evaluation early Monday after an incident near Lore Lake.

According to the Flathead County Sheriff’s Office, deputies received a call about a burglary at 10:26 p.m. Sunday on Piney Dell Trail.

The man who reported the incident, Bradford L. Moore, 61, of Kalispell, said he was followed home by an unknown man who threatened to kill him, prior to possibly going inside his residence.

Deputies responded, searched the area and his residence, and found no evidence of anyone other than Moore having been there, according to the Sheriff’s Office.

Then, at 2:09 a.m. Monday, deputies were called back to the location again for a report of an assault. Moore told dispatch he had shot two people and more were shooting at him.

When deputies arrived they again found no evidence of anyone having been there, or any shots fired by anyone other than Moore.

Deputies said Moore was highly agitated and exhibited signs of being under the influence. He was transported to the hospital for a medical evaluation.

The case has been forwarded to detectives for review and possible follow-up.
