Notable calls for the day!

Day Shift handled the following notable calls:

• A CIU Deputy arrested a male for his outstanding DWP Warrant on N. Trails End Rd. in Rathdrum. During the contact a marijuana pipe was found on his person in which he was cited for.

• A Deputy checked on a suspicious RV parked in the turnout at the intersection of McGuire Rd, and Riverbend Ave. Upon making contact with a couple staying in the RV, the Deputy immediately smelled marijuana and was able to do a consent search to find the marijuana and paraphernalia. A male occupant was cited and released for possession of marijuana and paraphernalia.

• SIU Detective located a male, who was a subject of an ongoing SIU drug investigation, in the Athol area. The Detective initiated a traffic stop and the male briefly attempted to elude, driving to the back of his own property. When advised by the Detective that he was under arrest, the male resisted briefly and slammed and locked his car door with the keys inside it. He was arrested on two counts of Delivery of Methamphetamine (prior incidents), and for Possession of Methamphetamine (located in his pocket upon arrest). He was also cited for Possession of Paraphernalia (Methamphetamine pipe found in his vehicle) and obstructing.

Evening Shift handled the following notable calls:

• A Deputy responded to a call for service at E Borley Road regarding an elder abuse. A male called to report that his aunt was abusing his grandmother over the last few weeks by refusing to feed her. During the investigation, the Deputy found that the Grandmother likely refused to eat due to her rapidly deteriorating condition. 21-05414

• Deputies responded to an address on Rice Road. The R/P called to report a domestic dispute. On scene she advised that she suffered from Alzheimer’s, and expressed that she was fearful of her husband because he was "mean" to her. It was determined that no crime was committed. 21-05438

• Deputies responded to a non-injury, two vehicle crash at Prairie and Pleasantview. The vehicles were towed due to damage and a report was completed.

• A Deputy responded to W Riverview Drive regarding a suicide attempt. It was reported that a female had taken an unknown amount of prescription medication in an attempt to kill herself. On scene she confirmed the statement and was transported to Kootenai Health where she was placed on a PC Hold.

Night Shift handled the following notable calls:

• Deputies responded to Hayden Holiday gas station for a trespassing/unwanted subject. An employee reported a male inside the men’s restroom refusing to leave. Deputies made contact and identified the male. He was given a courtesy transport to a hotel in CDA. 21-05484

• A Deputy responded to Hwy 97 MP 81 for a vehicle off the roadway and on fire. Upon arrival, the vehicle was fully engulfed and unoccupied. ISP took primary. 21-05477

• Deputies located a vehicle matching the description of a possible DUI near Pleasant View Rd X Seltice. A Carl’s Jr employee reported the driver of the vehicle appeared to be intoxicated while parked in the drive thru. The Deputies located the vehicle and initiated a traffic stop. They arrested a male for second offense DUI. 21-05482

• Deputies responded to W. Hillsdale Rd for a trespassing/unwanted subject. An R/P reported her ex-boyfriend was on scene and refusing to leave. Additionally the ex-boyfriend sent some text messages stating he was on scene and going to break into the residence and that he killed her horse. Deputies checked and no horses were injured. The ex-boyfriend was charged for telephone harassment. 21-05472
